Gov. Schwarzenegger Calls for Small, Disadvantaged Businesses to Participate in California's Infrastructure Growth
On July 21, Governor Schwarzenegger issued Executive Order S-11-06 that will
help California's small, disadvantaged businesses play a key role in rebuilding
the state's transportation infrastructure. Learn more about this and other

The executive order calls for the creation of a Small Enterprise Officer, increasing outreach
and assistance by state agencies to small and disadvantaged firms and the
creation of a $40 million State Transportation Bond Guarantee fund to help small
businesses secure adequate insurance protection for state projects.

Diversity and greater opportunities for Small Businesses
On May 2006, Governor Schwarzenegger signed Executive Order S-02-06 declaring
that 25% of the $8.9 billion state procurements and contracts available must be
given to California’s small businesses.
